Forward

Naming, rebranding and website for a narrative-driven video agency.

Forward use their storytelling skills to create engaging videos for a growing list of clients in the UK and further afield.

Diagnostics

Forward had grown and evolved to a point where their previous name and brand (Fast Forward Media) did not bear any relation to their offering. They approached us to help them seek out a totally new direction, one which carried their values and skills at it’s core.

Through an in-depth workshop, we worked to understand Forward’s positioning in the market, their motivations, skills and where they wanted to take the business. It was clear that in an increasingly competitive sector we needed a radical change to help elevate them above their rivals.

Discovery and Design

The first phase was to decide on the name. We tested several routes and decided that the reduction from ‘Fast Forward Media’ to Forward was the perfect balance of retaining equity from the old brand whilst moving in a new direction.

We created an elegant logo to represent the brand and matched it with a bold but minimal colour palette. A super-graphic based on motion lines was added which gave us the option of multiple layouts simply through manipulation of its positioning.

The new identity was applied to their marketing collateral and a bespoke template was designed which allows Forward to quickly produce detailed client proposals.

We also revamped Forward’s digital presence, creating a new responsive website with a simple user journey to allow potential clients to easily access all of Forward’s work. We worked with them to distill their process into three broad steps, and created straightforward guides to follow for detailing projects so they could easily keep the site up to date.

Deployment

In the first few months, the branding has already started to have a big impact in a variety of ways:

Saved time – Efficiency in producing proposals allows time to be spent on other important activities.

Project Enquiries – Engagement with both the website and collateral from potential customers has noticeably increased, leading to more valuable enquiries.

Industry Visibility – Forward have been approached to work with a large retailer, providing expert opinion and advice to professional consumers on video equipment.
